Tracy Munoz

VP Operations, the minnow PROJECT

AAF Lincoln's 2011 Recipient

The American Advertising Federation of Lincoln is pleased to present the 2011 Silver Medal for outstanding contributions to the advertising profession and the community to Tracy Munoz, VP Operations at the minnow PROJECT.

Tracy's involvement in AAF Lincoln is extensive, including nine years as a Board Member. During her leadership the club won many awards on a local, regional and national level. She was AAF Lincoln's 2005-2006 Ad Pro of the Year and AAF Division II 2006-2007 President of the Year. She currently serves as an Ex-Officio Board Member.

Tracy officially started her advertising career in 1998 when she joined The Eagle and Blaze as an Account Executive. However, she demonstrated creative strength and problem solving skills prior to joining the radio stations when she worked for a national jewelry manufacturer. In 1994, Tracy identified a void in Spencer Gifts jewelry line. Undeterred by the buyer stating there was nothing in her line that fit their store model, she designed a line of pendant charms that emulated pieces worn by top music artists but retailed under $25. She helped design the packaging and marketing materials then sold the concept to the jewelry buyer at Spencer Gifts. The concept has been copied a thousand times over but back then she was a pioneer.

During her radio career Tracy was consistently a top producer in part because of her strong creativity ability used in developing non-traditional revenue. Tracy was named the Lincoln winner of Clear Channel's President's Club award in 2001.

In 2004, Tracy joined Archrival as Director of New Business Development. Tracy's biggest score came from securing the agency's first meeting with Red Bull. Because of Tracy's media background, in 2006, she launched the agency's media department and took on the role of Media Director, which she held for the next four years. She helped place clients in growing new media such as on-line and social space and was instrumental in helping Red Bull grow their Facebook fans to 10 million. She grew one of the agency's clients from strategy and placement in 20 markets to over 100. Her knowledge helped take Archrival's media department to a global presence, as she has executed social media advertising in over 51 countries.

Tracy has actively mentored advertising students over the years and is extremely involved in the UNL chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma, winning the 2002 Sigma Chapter Spirit Key award. She's also a volunteer for the Wistrom Family Foundation, Junior Achievement and continues to be an active member of both AAF Lincoln and the 9th District.

In January 2011, Tracy took on the role of VP Operations at the minnow PROJECT and is looking forward to continued success in the industry that she daily praises.
